What is a Password?

Passwords are human memorised secrets used to authenticate users on a digital platform. For example, your passphrase for the La Trobe Learning Management System (LMS) is associated with your unique student ID or staff username. Passwords are the most common method of authentication.

The purpose of this module is to provide guidance as to how you can maintain a good password and protect yourself from its inherent threats and risks.
