Phishing 101!

Phishing scams are designed to look like they are from a company that you know and trust. Phishing is not limited to email but can also be through text messages or even instant messaging platforms like Facebook Messenger or Skype. Therefore, it is essential to know what to look out for when communicating through technology.

1. Be cautious if something seems too good to be true (Example: you just won a million dollars in a raffle you never signed up for!).

2. Always hover over any hyperlinks within an email to check the full address (usually visible at the bottom left of your screen) and see if it matches the said location.

3. Never open suspicious attachments or attachments/links from people you do not know.

4. Use a spam filter to flush out and avoid suspicious emails.
